Close Tab Button Options

Mozilla Firefox gives you several options for controlling the way that the close tab button is displayed. Follow the steps below to change the way Firefox displays the close tab button.

1. Type (or copy and paste) "about:config" without quotes into the address bar and press enter.
2. Type (or copy and paste) "browser.tabs.closeButtons" without quotes into the filter bar.
3. Double click on the browser.tabs.closeButtons listing that appears.
4. Double click on the network.http.pipelining.maxrequests listing that appears.
5. Setting the value to "0" without quotes will instruct Firefox to display a close tab button on the active tab only.
6. Setting the value to "1" without quotes will instruct Firefox to display a close tab button on every tab.
7. Setting the value to "2" without quotes will instuct Firefox to not display any close buttons.
8. Setting the value to "3" without quotes will instruct Firefox to display a single close tab button on the far right of the tab bar.
9. Click ok.
