On June 4th, 2008, Mozilla released Firefox 3 Release Candidate 2. While Mozilla does state that it is still a preview release and is recommended for testing purposes only, it does appear that Firefox 3 is very near completion. The next generation Mozilla Firefox 3 Web browser is almost 3 years in the making and will include many new features, enhancements, and improvements. Mozilla is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloads in a 24 hour period in what it is calling Firefox 3 Download Day. Although the official Firefox 3 launch date has not yet been announced, it is expected to be sometime in mid-June.
