Mozilla Firefox provides a way to easily clear the address bar as well as the browser's cookies, cache, etc. Follow the steps below to clear the address bar and other browsing history files.
1. Click on the Tools Menu and select Clear Recent History. The Clear Recent History appears as below.The Time range to clear option at the top allows you to specify how far back in time you would like Firefox to clear files. Selecting the Everything option is the most thorough. The lower portion of the window allows you to select what files you want Firefox to clear.
2. For additional privacy, Firefox allows you to easily disable the Smart Location Bar. Following the steps in the link provided will show you how to do so.
3. For even further privacy, Firefox 3.5 offers a new Private Browsing Mode which can be accessed by clicking the Tools Menu and selecting Start Private Browsing.
4. Following the above steps will allow you to clear the Firefox address bar history, various temporary internet files, disable the Smart Location Bar, and help protect your online privacy.
